I was still wandering in my dreams when my cell phone rang last Saturday morning. I caught up the last ring. I did not recognize his voice till he repeated his name for the third time. I was never a loser in naming people I know on the phone. It was from Lin, who was my classmate 4 years ago, we only talked on line for couple of times after that. He told me he was in America now, a international student in ** College in New Jersey. It was his 3rd day here. Rather than excited, there was something more like worry and maze in the way he talked. He told me I was the only one he knew in America; there was not many people around there, since his school would not begin till 23rd,he had been waiting for his roommate; there was no fridge, TV, computer in his dorm. The first 2 lonely and boring days really made him start regretting to come to America. I could tell the disappointment in his talking. A pause before he asked if I could go visit him. I was glad he had called me. As an immigrant myself, I fully understant how hard it is at the beginning, not even mention he was alone in America. I promised him I would drive to his college as soon as I looked up his college location on line.
We finally met yesterday, he was the same one as in my memory. It was a extremely cold day, but he did not wear much. (It was always warm in the city we used to live.) He told me he had worked for more than a year after he graduated for high school, then he realized there was nothing could bring him a promotion than a higher degree. Fortunately, he got accepted by the ** College, and got passed through the interview with the immigration department. He told he wanted to find a job, which could at least affords his basic spending. Since his social security card was still processing, there was not much he can do without it. Then we decided to get everything started after he got his SS nomber.
Wish him everything goes well!

I hope everything works out well for him -- this must be very terrifying and exciting. What a brave person to do this!
