Do not talk to strangers! This is what I got from both the old Grimm version and the new Carter version of "Little Red Cap". In spite of different writing styles, different story plots, different endings, the old and new versions of "Little Red Cap" teach us the same lesson--be careful of wolves! Obviously, wolves here represent those unkind people who are harmful for us. I think the reason for both versions are widely accepted by us is because each of the version has its certain amount of readers. The old Grimm is more suitable for kids. It is more acceptable to teach kids a lesson with a positive happy ending. The Carter version is more realistic for those adults or more grown-up people. Moreover, the change of time is also a main reason for why Carter version is more reasonable and more real for us. However, these two versions differ from each other in scenes and ending, the aim of the writers are the same.
"American Idol"
Honestly, I have not watched "American Idol" show on TV before, not even once. I knew it, because the commercial explode out on TV, through radio, always the hottest issue during my friends' conversation, there is no way to ignore its exsitence afterall. I am not a big fan of "American Idol", but I do know how this show goes, since I have watched some similar shows. I concluded two reasons for no need to change from "vote for the best" to "vote for the worst".
First of all, not many people will feel like spending time and money to vote for the one they dont like, at least I won't text time after time to vote for the losers, the only posibility is someone really gets on my nerve, his /her appearance really threats my daily life, I would destroy my cell phone only for letting him/her out of the show. Fortunately, this kind ofsituation does not happen oftenly, plus i might just choose not to continue watching the show, which seems like the best way to save from this unnecessary cost.
The second reason sort of relies on the first one, if we all significantly reduce texting times, or less and less people watch the show, the holder of this show will not be happy, their benefit would relatively decrease, which is against what their purpose of holding this show. Thus, they will try every effort to make the audience spend money on those fancy performers as much as they can, rather than let audiences vote for either losers or winners freely.

I understand what you mean about the voting system and how it should not change because then the producer of the show will have to WORK hard to regain an audience.ITS ALL ABOUT MONEY!!
I agree with you too. Changing the show will def make American Idol lose a ton of viewers. This will also make then lose a lot of money which is what they really care about.
